Orlenko V.L. graduated in 1993 from the Ukrainian State Medical University O.O. Bogomolets, majoring in "medical business", has a diploma with honors. Since 1993 she has been working at the Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism, first as an intern, endocrinologist, since 1998 as a junior researcher, since 2002 as a senior researcher, since 2005 as a leading researcher, and since 2013 as a head of research-consultant department of outpatient care for patients with endocrine pathology. Combines consulting and treatment work with scientific work in the field of clinical diabetology and some problems of general endocrine pathology. She has more than 70 scientific works, 6 patents of Ukraine for inventions. She is a member of the European Society of Endocrinologists, the European Diabetes Association (EASD), and the American Diabetes Association (ADA). In 2020, she defended her doctoral dissertation, which is devoted to the study of diabetic arthropathy - the least studied among all chronic complications of diabetes, despite their significant role in the disability of patients with diabetes.
