Dr. Mohammad Fakhrul Alam is a graduate of Dhaka Medical college. He completed his training in internal medicine at the same institution and obtained FCPS (Medicine) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Alam also achieved MD (Endocrinology and Metabolism) from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

Dr. Alam is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Endocrinology under Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Bangladesh. He has special interest in gestational diabetes and his research activities focus on GDM, Type 2 DM and PCOS. He authored articles in different national and international journals.
