Dr. Brewer-Smyth is an associate professor in the School of Nursing, College of Health Science at the University of Delaware. She completed her PhD, Postdoctoral Fellowship, and MSN at the University of Pennsylvania. She has decades on neuroscience experience in clinical, academic and research settings. She has practiced in acute care, critical care, rehabilitation and outpatient care. She has published and presented widely on various neuroscience topics, mainly the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis stress response, adverse childhood experiences and high risk behaviors. Her publications are cited extensively world-wide.
