Jose Roberto Kfoury Junior hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of São Paulo, as well as a master’s degree in animal Pathology and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. He currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ), University of São Paulo (USP). His research focuses on immunology, with a particular emphasis on reproductive immunology in cattle, rats, and mice; fish immunology; and, most significantly, the immunology of different tumors in dogs and humans. His work centers on the immunomodulation of the enzyme indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) and immune checkpoints as tools for advancing immunotherapy. He is currently serve as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Anatomy of Domestic and Wild Animals at FMVZ-USP.
