KRISTINE MACKARE, MSc is an optometrist originally from Latvia, but
currently from Norway. She studied science and clinical optometry
and obtained her BD and MD at the University of Latvia. In addition, is a
researcher and lecturer at Liepaja University. She
is a doctoral student in E-study technologies and management at Liepaja
University since 2016. Her research interests include vision science,
public health, on-screen reading, e-study, and technologies. Her research
creates new pathways for improving users' vision comfort and health by digital
reading. She is working on methodology and recommendations for e-material
formatting based on Vision Science. Also, there is a new program for e-material
formatting is in progress. Also, she is at the beginning of a new field here -
fields of engineering, programming, and Artificial Intelligence. The research
is conducted in collaboration with Liepaja University and Riga Technical
University. She has presented papers at multiple local and international
conferences in different research fields, as well as she has been published
several original articles in multiple different journals including SCOPUS and
WoSCC indexing and as an author of book chapters. To have a practical point of
view on nowadays problems, she worked as a professional optometrist in OC
Vision (Latvia) for 6 years and in Salten Synssenter (Norway) for 4 years. As
an optometrist Kristine specialize in refraction correction including contact
lens fitting, and her most recent professional interest is ocular health
screening diagnostics in primary health care. She participates in continuing
education at the University of South-Eastern Norway and different courses
Worldwide.
