Dr. Gernot Walder, born in 1970, studied chemistry and medicine at the
universities of Innsbruck and Padova. Since 2009 he works as an independent
specialist for infectious diseases, emergency physician and general
practitioner in Außervillgraten, (Tyrol, Austria). His research focus are
emerging zoonotic diseases. His scientific work focuses on the field of
emerging vectors and zoonotic diseases. During the corona pandemic he was a
member of the local authority task force and responsible for corona diagnostics
in parts of Carinthia, East Tyrol and South Tyrol.
