Dr. Tilak Chandra Nath is an
Associate Professor of Parasitology at the Sylhet Agricultural University,
Bangladesh. Dr. Nath received Ph.D. in Medicine majoring Parasitology from
Chungbuk National University. He did MPH majoring Implementation Research from
University of Gadjah Mada and MSc. majoring Parasitology from Sylhet
Agricultural University. He received Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for
doctoral study and WHO/TDR award for the Special Postgraduate Program of
Implementation Research on Tropical Diseases. He received University of Idaho
scholarship to attend "Biology of Vector-borne Diseases" course in
USA. Currently, he is working at the International Parasite Resource Bank as a
researcher where he is investigating human-animal-environment interactions for
the transmission and control of zoonotic parasitic diseases. He has been
teaching Parasitology at the School of Medicine, Chungbuk National University
as a teaching assistant since 2020. His research interests lie in the area of
the One Health Approach, ranging from theory to design to implementation. His
areas of interest also include biogeography of parasitic diseases and
parasite-host interactions, parasite conservation, biobanking, and policy
implementation. He wishes to contribute to public health innovations and
improvement in human and animal health through his research. His major research
findings have been featured in several reputed peer-reviewed journals. He
attended training programs at several countries including University of Idaho
(USA), University of Washington (USA), Seoul National University (Korea),
Chungbuk National University (Korea), Duksung Women's University (Korea),
University Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), Hanoi University of Public Health
(Vietnam), Khon Kaen University (Thailand), United Nations University (Japan),
Institut Pasteur de Tunis (Tunisia), West Bengal Veterinary and Animal Sciences
University (India) and University of Ghana (Ghana). Away from academics, he
likes traveling, watching sports, cooking, and listening to music.
